Who am I?
Hello Friends! My name is Sridevi (call me Sri). Vegetarian Wellness is a platform to share my passion for food & health. I live in Washington, DC. I am a Software Engineer & Technical Lead during the day and a chef at night who is always thriving in the kitchen trying to recreate every possible recipe out there into it’s counterpart version of healthy & vegetarian recipe (I am also a big foodie apart from being health conscious). All that craziness happens in my tiny apartment in DC.
Talking about healthy eating & nourishing your body, did you know that 80% of how we look depends on what we eat and the rest 20% is based on the activities we do like exercise, walking, running and as such. Consequently, I created this website to share with you all my recipes that are not only healthy & nourishing for the body but also delicious. Here you will find a wide variety of vegetarian & vegan recipes including homemade vegetarian & vegan sourdough breads, naans, roti’s, salads (lots of salads), & all the world cuisines made healthy & vegetarian including regional specialties from my South India. I hope I can inspire you to add more vegetarian dishes into your diet & introduce you to some new traditional eats without comprising on quality or taste.
A little about me, I love playing with different ingredients and creating something whimsical that evokes the senses. All that while I am make sure I create something healthy that can be enjoyed by my family & yours. As a software engineer/programmer I do that everyday at my job as well. I am always trying to please the end user by going above and beyond to innovate and improve. The same applies to my cooking. I am a passionate developer whether its code or cooking.
Apart from cooking, I also enjoy running, exploring different restaurants, cuisines and all the best wine in the world. I also love some mean cocktails like an aged Boulevardier. I recently even got into Pilates and so far I am loving it.
